Grant Britain got their Davis Cup campaign off to a winning start and will look to continue that against Switzerland with the likes of Jack Draper and Dan Evans firing
Great Britain and Switzerland will face off in the Davis Cup for the first time since 2005 on Friday afternoon.
Two decades ago it was Roger Federer leading the Swiss to victory, assisted by Stan Wawrinka, who would go on to become a three-time Grand Slam winner himself. Wawrinka is still part of the furniture in the Swiss team and remains their highest ranked player.
They will have a tough time against the Brits though with Cam Norrie, Dan Evans and Andy Murray all ranked inside the world’s top 50. The two nations will square off in the Finals Group Stage in Manchester.
Both countries have won the Davis Cup previously but they have met just four times in the tournament’s 123-year history. The Brits currently lead the head-to-head 3-1, but haven’t won since 1985.
