Richarlison seeking psychological help after breaking down in tears on bench

Richarlison has scored just one Premier League goal since his £60million transfer to Tottenham 15 months ago – but the Brazilian is confident of regaining his form

Richarlison will “seek psychological help” after breaking down in tears during Brazil’s 5-1 victory against Bolivia on Saturday.

The Tottenham forward, 26, failed to hide his emotions after being substituted in the 71st minute of the World Cup qualifier at the Mangueirao. He failed to score during Brazil’s convincing win and is enduring one of the toughest droughts of his career.

Richarlison hasn’t scored for his country since the World Cup in Qatar, while he’s found the net just once in 31 Premier League appearances for Tottenham. The former Watford star joined Spurs from Everton in a £60million deal in July 2022.

His international teammates have rallied around him over the last few days, with Matheus Cunha calling him a “great player” and Marquinhos insisting the goals “will come”. The struggling striker will now seek professional help to solve his woes.
