Escaped prisoner Danelo Cavalcante finally caught after crab-walking out of jail

Police have finally caught and arrested Danelo Cabalcante after he spent nearly two weeks on the run after escaping prison on August 31, leading officers on a chase through Pennsylvania that terrified families and forced schools to close

Danelo Cabalcante, who escaped his Pennsylvania jail on August 31, was caught by officers after 14 days on the run the state police confirmed in a tweet early Wednesday morning.

While he’s evaded capture before, he was spotted by numerous individuals, allowing police to close in on the criminal. The police department’s tweet read, “A press conference announcing details of THE CAPTURE of Danelo Cavalcante is scheduled for 9:30 am at the Po-Mar-Lin Fire company, 36 Firehouse Drive, Kennett Square, PA.” No other details were given other than Cavalcante was caught. This story is developing.

The killer escaped from the Chester County Prison on August 31 by crab-walking up prison walls, then hopping onto the roof after weaving his way through barbed wire. He sprinted across the facility’s top before jumping down and running off.
