But it also plays host to Europe 's largest "scream park" at halloween. The aptly named Shocktober has become increasingly popular among thrill-seekers and it's easy to see why. Its "haunts" feature a variety of sinister characters who will do all they can to terrify visitors in several different scenarios, including the chop shop, the wastelands penitentiary and the island. Another of the haunts called "Hell-ements" places park-goers into the hands of the ghastly characters running the attraction, as they are blindly led on a journey to hell. The Shocktober website explains: "You will be shrouded in a cloth hood and guided by the rope of your execution, taunted by the 'Shades of Hell' as you journey through the punishing elements of earth, air, fire and water. "You are condemned and your soul is forever marked." The chop shop meanwhile is a particular fan favourite, with Thrillnation writing: "The Chop Shop is a returning haunt and we can see why it does year upon year. "Usually and still is one of the scariest experiences you can have at Tulley's, especially if you are scared of chainsaws!"
