'I would find self-inflicted injuries on my body that I had no memory of doing, wake up to empty bottles of pills that I had no memory of taking,' she adds. 'I had no awareness that I had alternate identities and that they were taking over during my blackouts.' Initially thinking she had psychosis, she suffered in silence and tried to manage it on her own fearing the stigma surrounding mental illness, but things started to spiral out of control.
