Sarah Albone was fatally attacked by Matthew Waddell, a man who friends and family became increasingly concerned about before he killed her
A man who killed his partner after she tried to leave has been convicted of her murder.
Sarah Albone, who was 38, was fatally attacked by Matthew Waddell. It’s been reported that she had tried to leave him. Waddell, 35, has now been found guilty of murder.
In November 2022, police say that friends and family became increasingly concerned for Sarah, her relationship with Waddell and her lack of communication with them. Before this date, police report that there had been concerns over the toxic nature of their relationship and Waddell’s control over Sarah.
Sarah had not seen family and friends or answered any of their calls and as concerns grew, her family submitted a missing person report to Bedfordshire Police on 21 February. Waddell told family that Sarah was at a hospital being treated for her mental health, and that her phone was broken so she could not answer calls.
