The X-Files star looks almost unrecognisable in sizzling throwback snaps

The X Files star David Duchovny looks world’s away from his brooding FBI Agent Fox Mulder persona in a photoshoot done four years before he found fame on the sci-fi show in 1993. The now 63-year-old was snapped by Andrea Blanch for Stern Magazine in 1989, and the steamy shots see him get up close and personal with lingerie-clad model and actress Suzanne Lanza. In the pictures, which were taken on a beach, he seductively kisses her chest as she closes her eyes, enjoying the moment. Another shows him larking around wearing her bra as a hat while he smiles broadly and she protects her modesty with her arms crossed over her body. The images are part of a series of similarly sexy shots with the pair taken for the publication. He also had a role in the 1989 movie New Year’s Day which saw him star opposite future Friends star Maggie Wheeler. Following the shoot, he went on to appear in a few more movies and in three episodes of cult TV show Twin Peaks as trans DEA Agent Denise Bryson from 1990-1991. However, it was to be 1993 before he got his big break, at the age of 33, playing opposite Gillian Anderson in the X-Files. He played the role from 1993–2002 and again in a revival of the show from 2016–2018, as well as in two spin-off movies. After his casting was announced last year , the trailer landed last week and shows the pair playing former lovers Bill and Willa. They find themselves snowed in at a regional airport overnight where they are once again drawn to each other as they were decades before. The film is due out later this year and marks Meg’s first film in fourteen years since the romantic comedy Serious Moonlight in 2009. The X-Files is available to watch in its entirety on Disney+ in the UK
