Andrew Flintoff’s presence can inspire England, says Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad has hailed Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff as a legend of the game and says his presence among the England coaching staff will be an “inspiration” for the players.

Speaking on Sky Sports before the second one-day international against New Zealand at the Ageas Bowl, the recently retired Broad said that Flintoff would have been the role model for many of the England players, and that it was “great to see him” back in the game.

Flintoff, 45, who retired from international cricket in 2009 having played 79 Tests and 141 one-day internationals, suffered serious facial injuries in an accident in a three-wheeled buggy while filming for the BBC show Top Gear at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey last December.
