Phil Spencer says Xbox wants its games available in many different places, but refuses to commit to Elder Scrolls 6 on PS5.
Ever since Microsoft bought Bethesda, it’s never been entirely clear which of the company’s games would launch as Xbox exclusives. At the time, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said exclusives would be handled on a ‘case-by case basis,’ implying some games would still be multiplatform post-acquisition.
That hasn’t been the case at all, though, with the exception of Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo, which were already tied up in PlayStation 5 marketing deals.
Spencer has once again insisted that the decisions will be made on ‘case-by-case basis’, even though that directly contradicts evidence from the recent FTC court case, which revealed that he made the decision years ago.
In an interview with Bloomberg, Spencer is asked if Elder Scrolls 6 will be exclusive and how Microsoft decides if this is ‘the right track.’
