The most ridiculous complaints about American tourist attractions

The hosts of the popular podcast ‘Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet’ reveal their favourite gripes

It was on the way back from a Las Vegas hen party that siblings Christine and Xandy Schiefer came up with the idea for a podcast of the strangest, meanest and most hilarious reviews on the internet. “We’d seen some fun things,” Xandy recalled. “We’d been to the Chippendales and also Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum, which was a must-see for us. And it was an experience.

“But on the way back, driving to Los Angeles and sitting in traffic, we thought it would be fun to read reviews of the places we had just been to. And then we thought, ‘why don’t we do this as a podcast?'”.

The result is Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet, which explores a different theme (such as amusement parks or restaurants on Route 66) in every episode via dramatic readings of one-star reviews from websites. “We’ll probably never run out of content,” said Christine.

Reviews of childrens’ museums will grace the next episode. In the meantime, the duo have given their verdicts on some of the strangest travel-related write-ups to have made the podcast below.
