Daniel Khalife: Eyewitness reports seeing man ‘sprinting from lorry and jumping in car’

A young man fitting the description of wanted Daniel Khalife was seen running from a food delivery van and into a black car two miles from Wandsworth Prison

A witness believes they saw fugitive Daniel Khalife sprinting from a lorry before jumping in a car amid fears his prison escape was a “clearly” pre-planned and a possible inside job.

The escaped lag from Wandsworth prison legged it from the vehicle into a waiting black car outside Wandsworth County Court, a man has said. It comes as Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley says the force is investigating whether the terror suspect was helped by someone working inside the jail on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old – accused of trying to spy for an enemy state and plotting a fake bomb hoax – is understood to have escaped by strapping himself underneath a food delivery van. Detectives believe he was still wearing a prison-issue cook’s uniform when he slipped out of the category B jail.

Now a witness has come forward to say they saw someone who fits Khalife’s description two miles from prison. The man, who asked not to be identified, saw a “tall, lanky dude with dark hair” run from a BidFood lorry to an eastbound vehicle outside Wandsworth County Court. The Telegraph report that he was alerted when he heard people shouting and cars beeping outside.
