Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Janette Manrara took to Instagram to set the record straight, as her prompt return to work after giving birth sparked a debate online. The star, 39, welcomed her first baby with husband and fellow Strictly star Aljaz Skorjanec , 33, on July 28, and made a surprise comeback to BBC ‘s Morning Live sofa this week. Janette’s swift journey back into working life sparked a debate amongst fans when the new mum shared photos of her newborn watching her on the TV. “Your incision hasn’t even healed yet!” One person commented, in reference to Janette giving birth to Lyra via C-section. Another complained: “I know mums have to work but personally I think this is too soon… Mother and baby bonding is so important. Mind you Dad looks very hands on.” Janette Manrara sets record straight on return to work six weeks after birth amid backlash (Image: INSTAGRAM) Following the critical comments, Janette posted a video this afternoon clarifying that she was about to have some more time off after hosting the BBC show for only two days. The mum-of-one explained on her Instagram Stories: ‘I have had the most amazing day today, hosted Morning Live with Kimberley Walsh.’ Janette then gushed of the former Girls Aloud singer: ‘It was so nice to be on the couch with her – girlband on the go! ‘And, to be fair, it was really nice to have these two days back on Morning Live – it was only the two days and now I have time off again for a little while.’ Janette Manrara co-hosted with Kimberley Walsh (Image: INSTAGRAM) Janette went on to share that her stint on Morning Live didn’t take too much time away from her family. She continued: ‘But it was nice to be back, and the good thing about doing Morning Live is you’re literally done at 10am, and then you can come home and be a mum, be an auntie, be a wife, have fun. ‘And afterwards, oh my gosh, we took the girls for a photoshoot, so Lyra had pictures with her cousins Zala and Tisa who are over from Slovenia. ‘They look so sweet together and now she’s fast asleep, and mommy has time to have a little bit of lunch before she wakes up for more cuddles, yay!’ Janette Manrara with husband Aljaz and their daughter (Image: INSTAGRAM) Janette had previously praised Aljaz , who had taken some time out from his own work commitments to look after their little one. Although her return to work had prompted some backlash, Janette was also inundated with supportive comments. One fan wrote: “It is normal, most mothers have to go back to work! There isn’t a magic money pot in the garden!” “It’s a fact that a lot of people have to do this. Also some want to. Whatever is right for each person,’ another Instagram user agreed.
