Freddie Flintoff back in the field after Top Gear crash

Freddie Flintoff has been pictured at his first public engagement since his accident while filming Top Gear for the BBC last year.

Flintoff, the former England cricketer, was photographed leading fielding drills with the national team at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on Friday before the one-day international against New Zealand.

Flintoff suffered serious injuries last December in a car crash while filming in freezing conditions at Dunsfold aerodrome in Surrey. The presenter and a crew member were driving a three-wheel open-top Morgan Super 3 at 130mph when the vehicle flipped. Flintoff suffered serious facial injuries and broken ribs.

The car had no airbag and Flintoff, 45, had to wait 45 minutes for an air ambulance to arrive. He has quit his role as co-presenter on
