Multiple people had to be rescued from strong rip currents along the New York and New Jersey coastline over the US holiday weekend with at least two people drowning.
Surfer Steve Houser was enjoying the sea when he noticed some swimmers in distress. The swimmer, who Houser identified only by his first name Gabriel, said later that Steve saved his life.
