Leo Moran, 44, and Joel Carriedo, 47, were both killed despite the efforts of medics at the scene after a ‘rampaging’ car struck them and smashed into a house

Tributes have been paid to a man who was killed after a Mercedes ploughed into three people before smashing into a house during a ‘car rampage’ in Coventry. Leo Moran, 44, was today named as the second victim of the horror crash which happened at around 8am on Sunday.

A a 33-year-old man who fled the scene on foot after smashing into a house nearby was arrested by police on suspicion of murder. He has since been sectioned under the Mental Health Act and West Midlands Police are not looking for anybody else in connection with the tragedy.

Leo’s devastated family have now paid tribute to a man who brought ‘fun and laughter’ to everyone. In a statement issued via police, they said: “We are completely heartbroken at the loss of Leo, who was taken from us so soon. Leo was an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend to so many, he brought so much laughter and fun to all of our lives. We are now giving the police time to give us the answers that we will need to understand how and why this happened. This will be the only public statement we will be giving.”
