Ukrainian spymaster Major-General Kyrylo Budanov said he believed that Vladimir Putin had died more than a year ago, and the Kremlin has been sending doppelgangers in his place
Since the start of the bloody war in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin watchers have unearthed a trove of evidence which Ukraine claims supports the theory that the warlord is already dead.
Last week, Ukrainian spymaster Major-General Kyrylo Budanov said he was convinced that the Russian tyrant actually met his maker around 14 months ago, and that the Kremlin has installed a body double in his place. Rumours about Putin’s demise aren’t new but have surged since the start of the Russo-Ukraine war in February last year due to the numerous public appearances the despot has made.
Speaking with Radio Svoboda last week, Budanov said: “The Putin who everyone used to know was last seen around June 26, 2022.” He was then quizzed on whether he thought Putin was still alive, to which he answered: “I don’t know what to answer you.”
The presenter then said that she believed Putin had been using a body double and he agreed. Here are four reasons that could support Budanov’s extraordinary claim.
