Love Island snubbed at the NTAs as breakthrough reality show takes top gong

LOVE Island has been snubbed at the National Television Awards in favour of new BBC show The Traitors.

Host Maya Jama took to the stage at The O2 in London on Tuesday night – but not to collect a gong for the ITV2 reality show.

The 28-year-old was on hand to present actor Bobby Brazier for the rising star award for his role in EastEnders.

Earlier on, Maya missed out on collecting a prize for Love Island as The Traitors picked up the gong for Best Reality TV Competition.

The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman was missing and Wilf, who was one of the original Traitors and made it all the way to the final before being caught out by the faithfuls, read a note out on stage as he collected the award.
