Tottenham Hotspur’s fine start to the post-Harry Kane era continued at Burnley on Saturday, as Ange Postecoglou’s men destroyed newly-promoted Burnley – with new skipper Son nabbing a hat-trick
He’s England’s captain, record goalscorer and one of the finest players ever to pull on a Tottenham shirt, but Son Heung-Min says Tottenham are learning how to cope without Harry Kane.
Son, who with Kane formed the Premier League’s deadliest partnership, in no way denigrates his former Spurs’ team-mate and the massive role he played in the club’s recent history. He was gutted when he joined Bayern Munich and says his departure means everyone in Ange Postecoglu’s side must step up.
“Harry is a very important player, don’t get me wrong,” said the South Korean star. “He’s one of the best players in the world and one of the best players probably I would say to work with.
“If you have Harry Kane in your team, you have 20 to 30 goals in your pocket safely. But this is part of football and if someone had to leave, you have to respect that.
