Ken Bruce left Britain’s most popular radio show after 31 years because he couldn’t enthuse over new music and wanted to avoid becoming “bitter and entrenched”, he has revealed.
The DJ left BBC Radio 2 in March and took his PopMaster quiz with him to a new mid-morning slot at Bauer Media’s Greatest Hits Radio.
At the time he said it felt “like the natural culmination of some planning I’ve been doing” but he has now gone further and said he didn’t want to have to pretend to like the new music being played at the station.
