An entrepreneur from Manchester is working with brands such as THG, the ecommerce group, and several unnamed sports and travel brands to introduce a new internet browser that promises to make all business websites “social”.
Andy Barlow set up Chatloop in 2021 and in January this year heard from Apple that it had approved its new social browser, which allows users to set its app as the default browser on their mobile phones. It makes Chatloop one of only nine third-party default browsers approved by the American company worldwide; indeed, the only one based in Britain. “It feels slightly surreal that a young Manchester tech start-up like ours has been able to achieve this milestone,” he said.
