'I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week,' Sancho said on Sunday evening. 'I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't go into, I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!' Ten Hag was quickly made aware of his player's comments and decided against offering a clarification, the Manchester Evening News report. Ten Hag believes he was clear in his assessment of the situation and sticks by his view that Sancho's recent performances in training do not merit a place in his squad. Sancho could now face disciplinary action over his outburst – something ten Hag is no stranger to having acted quickly to address moments of perceived indiscipline since arrival at Old Trafford. Cristiano Ronaldo was suspended for one game after refusing to come on as a substitute in October 2022 before having his contract terminated after his infamous Piers Morgan interview the following month where he said he 'didn't respect' ten Hag.
