And if you just fancy a dance or a tipple? Well, there are plenty of music and booze festivals, too. Here's a handful of the best London events happening in September 2023. Totally Thames (all month) St Katharine's Dock during a previous Totally Thames event (Picture: In Pictures Ltd./Corbis via Getty Images) The annual Totally Thames festival brings the river of the same name to life in September, with a month-long programme of activities taking place along all 42 miles of it. Expect boat rides, guided walks, art trails, photography shows and soundscape experiences. If you're into saving the environment, there's even a session for litter-picking. For just under two weeks, you can book tickets to explore private homes built by renowned architects, inside famous estates such as Alexandra Road, places of worship, old Victorian engine houses, and Crystal Palace subway, among many others.
