LIV Golf star Cameron Smith set to make awkward return to DP World Tour

Cameron Smith was one of the biggest names to join the LIV Golf setup last summer, but is set to finish his 2023 season by competing on home soil in Australia on the DP World Tour

Cameron Smith is set to make a return to the DP World Tour later this year following the end of the 2023 LIV Golf season.

Smith became one of the marque names to join the breakaway circuit, as made the Saudi switch just weeks after his Open Championship win last summer. His move to LIV was a controversial one, as the Australian and his fellow rebel stars were handed sanctions by both the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.

Despite the bad blood between the DP World Tour and the LIV setup, Smith will be back playing golf on the Wentworth-based circuit in the coming months. This comes after the former Open champion revealed he would be making a return to Australian soil to finish his 2023.

Smith confirmed he will be competing in both the Australian PGA Championship and the Australian Open across November and December. Both events down under are co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia.
