Amy was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in May this year, revealing her diagnosis in July. Since then she has undergone an MRI, a mastectomy and gruelling fertility treatment so she can hopefully start a family in the future with her husband Benjamin Jones. On top of her existing cancer diagnosis, she revealed that doctors had found more tumours, and she also fell ill with sepsis, from which she has since recovered. Amy, a fan favourite, admitted that her appearance on the 2023 series of the BBC One show was in doubt due to her health – but told the Mirror last month that she was determined to get herself on the Strictly dance floor. Sadly, Amy will miss out on being paired with a celebrity this year as she needs chemotherapy after surgeons discovered more tumours during her mastectomy.
