Weston, who’s eaten over 5000 pounds of raw meat over four years, described his fridge looking like a “horror movie” and admitted that over his life he ate over 100 raw chickens. Appearing on TLC’s ‘My Strange Addiction: Still Addicted?’, Weston visited a gastroenterologist after his mom urged him to, where he was warned he could die from his lifestyle. But speaking on the programme, he said: ‘I’m addicted to eating raw meat.’ Weston, 40, said: ‘Both me and my dogs we actually share something in common, we both designed to eat raw meat.” He was also seen biting into what appears to be a raw rib-eye steak, which he called “delicious”. “This steak was fed a little bit of grain, a little bit of corn, so you can taste, sort of the sweetness in the steak. ‘It’s basically like very squishy in my mouth and since it’s raw, it slides down your throat, you don’t have to chew it up that much ‘It’s a very good feeling, it’s almost borderline euphoric, it can feel very primal.’ Weston, who’s consumed over 5000 pounds of raw meat over four years, said ‘I’m addicted’ (Image: TLC) Speaking to the gastroenterologist, Weston was told he had an ‘abnormal’ strain of E. coli. It can lead to a string of health complications such as kidney problems, and can be fatal. Weston, seeming unbothered about the bombshell news, explained: ‘I’m not surprised at all that they found something. ‘I eat the most bizarre diet of all time, of course, I’m probably going to have some unusual strains of bacteria that they don’t normally see in people’s stools.’ He told the doctor that he will ‘continue eating raw meat, and if I start feeling bad, I’ll come in for a visit’. There is no research to support this. Although there are no proven advantages to eating raw meat, there are great microbial hazards. There is not only a risk of being infected with diseases such as Campylobacters and Salmonellas, but also parasites such as roundworms and tapeworms.
