Casualty fans went wild on Saturday night after a former EastEnders star made a surprise appearance on the hit BBC medical drama
Casualty viewers were in for a surprise on Saturday night when they spotted a former EastEnders star on the hit BBC medical drama.
During the latest episode, a pregnant woman called Piper was rushed in after she was found bloodied at home, which had been broken into and vandalised. However, viewers were left distracted during the scenes as they instantly recognised Piper star Anna Acton from her role as DC Emma Summerhayes in EastEnders from 2014 to 2015.
Soap watchers will recall that Emma was a police officer tasked with finding the killer of murdered Lucy Beale. During her time investigating Albert Square, Emma pursued a romance with Max Branning. Eventually, Emma solved the Lucy murder mystery but in a tragic twist, Emma was killed in 2015 after she was hit by Roxy Mitchell’s car with Nick Cotton having cut the brakes. Emma died before she was able to tell anyone, including the police, her findings on the Lucy case.
Taking to social media, one person said: “Omg its Emma SummerHayes from Eastenders #casualty”, a different account put: “That’s DCI Summerhayes EastEnders fans #Casualty”, to which another follower replied: “I was trying to work out where i’ve seen her before so thank you” while another fan added: “Anna Acton on #Casualty she’s been in #EE #Eastenders.”
