The Spaceman singer has parted ways with record label Parlophone, following on from his huge success at Eurovision Song Contest and chart-topping debut album release
Sam Ryder has parted ways with his record label one year on from his success at the Eurovision Song Contest.
The Spaceman singer was signed up to a one album deal with his label Parlophone and despite that release topping the charts one year ago he has now parted ways with the music giant. Sam, 34, placed second at Eurovision in 2022 making him the UK’s most successful entry in over 20 years. He was also crowned the winner of the Ultimate UK Eurovision Song competition following a vote to discover the nation’s favourite ever entry for his efforts. However, he now wants to take things in a new direction according to reports.
A source told The Sun: “Sam had a one-album deal with Parlophone and when the contract ended, he and the label decided it was best to go their separate ways. He is eager to go in a new musical direction so is going to try something new next time around.
“It’s been an amicable split, though, and he and the label remain on great terms. They achieved great things during their partnership, especially with reinvigorating Eurovision, and Sam is feeling positive about what’s next.”
