 Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) has always been hard work – we have no idea how mum Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) has put up with it for so long – and after less than a week back in EastEnders we already understand why not one but two of his ex-wives have tried to bump him off. In the span of a single night, he has already upset son Bobby (Clay Milner Russell),slagged off Cindy Beale's (Michelle Collins) daughters while one of them was in hospital and, as if that wasn't enough, turfed his own mother out of her home. The cheek of it! It is testament to the lovely Adam Woodyatt's performance that fans have had such a strong reaction to Ian's return, with many calling for Cindy to get back in contact with that hitman. There is still plenty of time for Ian to get on the wrong side of the other four members of The Six and, judging by the rate he's going, he'll have likely turned the whole Square against him by October. While fans are angered by Ian's actions, they are still thrilled to see actor Adam back on the Square, claiming that his performance makes them love to hate Ian. Long time EastEnders viewers will remember what a sweet young lad Ian was back in 1985. Is there any possibility that that side of him will start to come through again, or are we stuck with the 'nasty piece of work' he's become?
