Steven Gerrard ‘s new side, Al-Ettifaq, have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Georginio Wijnaldum from Paris Saint-Germain . The Dutchman’s arrival will see two former Liverpool stars line up in Gerrard’s midfield, with Jordan Henderson ‘s Saudi Pro League stint already underway. Henderson was tempted away from Anfield back in July after receiving an offer of £700,000 a week to play in Saudi. The 33-year-old has already made three appearances for Al-Ettifaq, who currently sit fifth in the domestic league table. Other prominent members of the squad include former Lyon striker Moussa Dembele and ex-Wolfsburg centre-back Marcel Tisserand. A new name is set to be added to that list, as L’Equipe claim that Al-Ettifaq have agreed to a deal to sign Wijnaldum. Just under £7million is all it has taken to snap up the former Liverpool hero, who had been frozen out of the first team at PSG. In five seasons at Anfield, Wijnaldum was a pivotal member of Jurgen Klopp’s devastating side that won the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League 12 months later. It’s exciting and I’m just happy to be here and try and get started.”
