 It all got a bit much for Adam Driver as he soaked up the reaction to his new movie at the Venice Film Festival. The US star appears in Ferrari alongside Shailene Woodley, Penélope Cruz, Patrick Dempsey, and Jack O'Connell. It tells the life story of Italian sports car entrepreneur Enzo Ferrari, aka the mastermind behind the iconic sports cars. And as the film made its debut in Venice, Adam, 39, got emotional as the audience gave it a seven-minute standing ovation. Fighting back tears, the Emmy nominee basked in the applause before director Michael Mann, 80, brought him to his feet. Adam looked typically dapper in a black suit and bow tie combo, also clapping for his co-stars, including Patrick, 57, who sat with him. The carpet was much more bare than usual, however, due to the ongoing Saf-Aftra strikes. Many stars have boycotted the annual glitzy event, but Ferrari was able to have its moment as it doesn't break any strike rules. The cast and crew could premiere the project as it was made by an independent studio. Speaking at the festival, though, Adam was keen to heap praise on Neon before slamming larger production companies. 'I'm very happy to be here to support this movie, and the truncated schedule that we had to shoot it and the efforts of all the incredible actors working on it and the crew,' he began.
