Holidaymakers were given the chance to stay in a tent in someone’s garden in Sydney’s Northern Beaches region, with sleeping bags thrown in, for as much as £865 a night
Holidaymakers were shocked to find a tent on Airbnb for more than £400 a night.
Like many parts of life, over the past three years the price of staying in one of the holiday firm’s lets has increased significantly – by 35% according executives speaking earlier this year. While you may have noticed your holiday money isn’t going as far this year, you probably wouldn’t expect to fork out as much as one proud ‘property’ owner was asking for.
A one night stay for three in a tent in someone’s garden in Sydney’s Northern Beaches region was recently advertised for the equivalent of £764. To add to the financial pain, an additional “cleaning fee” brings the price up to £865.
An Airbnb user called Caity found the Warriewood Beach listing which was titled “Camping Swag Under The Stars” â with ‘swag’ Australian slang for ‘portable sleeping unit’. “At first I thought it was some kind of insane glamping experience for that price,” Caity told Kidspot.
