Mohamed Salah has already been the subject of a £150m bid that was rejected by Liverpool but a fresh £200m offer could come in from Al-Ittihad, which could prove tough to turn down
Jamie Carragher insist Liverpool cannot turn down £200m for Mohamed Salah if a world-record offer does come their way.
They’ve already turned down an offer of £150m from Al-Ittihad as the Saudi Pro League look to land one of football’s biggest names. The likes of Karim Benzema and Neymar have decided to head to the Middle East and reports suggest a record offer could soon arrive.
Salah moved to Anfield in 2017 for £43m and has excelled since minute one, winning numerous individual accolades whilst helping Liverpool claim Premier League and Champions League glory. The Egyptian remains one of the club’s leading lights, and Carragher has cast doubt over whether a deal will happen given how late the Saudis have come to the table.
He said on Sky Sports: “When you look at what Harry Kane went for, about £100m, and he is a year or two younger but he only had a year to go on his deal at Spurs. Salah has two years to go, he looks after himself really well. For Liverpool to sell now, they aren’t going to want what he is worth, they will want more than that.
