Gareth Southgate looks certain to name Raheem Sterling in his next England squad while a number of players have caught the eye of the Three Lions coaching staff for senior call-ups – either now or in the near future
Raheem Sterling is desperate for an England recall after making himself available again.
âSterling sat out the Euro qualifiers with Malta and North Macedonia in June after discussions with England boss Gareth Southgate. Chelsea forward Sterling had been carrying an injury and also wanted a chance to rest and refocus on getting back to his best form after a difficult season.
That decision is now reaping rich rewards as Sterling is rediscovering his best form under Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge. Sterling, 28, scored twice in Chelsea’s win over Luton last Friday, he impressed in front of Southgate at West Ham and it would be now a major surprise if he was not recalled to the England squad to face Ukraine and Scotland.
