People are divided on whether she did the right thing
Being a parent can be very hard work, especially when it comes to trying to teach them good manners and behaviour. And as everyone knows, parenting styles differ hugely and what might work for one family may not be suitable for another.
One mother has faced backlash after revealing she decided to make her 10-year-old child walk to school instead of being driven after she apparently disobeyed her parents. Sharing the story on the social media site Quora, the mum shared a photo of her daughter as she followed in the car from behind and explained: “This morning a few people saw my daughter walking to school and me following behind her. Some asked me why I did that and others gave me a stank stare. I’m very well aware she’s only 10. And she walked because I told her to.”
She went on: “Because she forgot how to treat adults, so I told her to walk. Because she mistakenly associated her size with her authority, I told her to walk. Because her behaviour towards me and other adults is unacceptable, so I told her to walk. Until she can appreciate the free ride to/from school. Respect and listen to me.
