The tropical storm is expected to pummel Florida's Gulf coast, the National Hurricane Center warned, with an increasing risk of life-threatening storm surge and dangerous hurricane-force winds in the state as soon as late Tuesday. The hurricane watch covers areas from Englewood to Indian Pass, including Tampa Bay, while a tropical storm watch extends from Englewood to Chokoloskee and the Dry Tortugas.
