NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Liam Lawson will continue to deputise for Daniel Ricciardo until the Formula One star has fully recovered from hand surgery, AlphaTauri have confirmed.
Ricciardo broke his left hand following a crash during practice for last weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix, with rookie Lawson called-up to replace him.
On Sunday, the Aussie underwent hand surgery which has since been confirmed to be successful but it remains to be seen how long he will be out of the cockpit for.
Red Bull boss Christian Horner suggested that the 34-year-old could return for the Singapore Grand Prix on 17th September, though he believes that that could be risky given the gruelling nature of the Marina Bay street circuit.
