A woman who shared that her RAF background had made her desperately need an "ordered" family routine, which includes cleaning her kid's windowsills daily with bleach, was left shocked when she met a woman whose mum also was in the RAF, but as a result, had lived her life consciously in the opposite way to her late mother. Appearing on an episode of Channel 4's , which originally aired in 2013, 34-year-old Louise, a civil servant from Wiltshire, admitted that she felt "safe" indoors, in her "germ-free environment", sharing that she's concerned about what's outside. It transpired that she washes her hands "30 times a day" and cleans her sink 18 times a day, going through "17 bottles of bleach every week." Louise also shared that her cupboards are ordered alphabetically, as it would make her feel "out of control" otherwise. Her partner Gareth joked that she runs things with a "velvet-coated iron fist" in their home, so when she was introduced to 62-year-old Michelle from Swindon, who had moved in with her partner Michael two years ago and taken things over, she was shocked. Michelle admitted that she owned between 20 and 30 quilts, and 60 pairs of curtains, and when she moved in with her partner, so did three lorry loads of 40 years worth of clutter. It had got so bad that even her neighbour and her daughter were keeping hold of things for her, and Michael was building another outbuilding for storage. Michael said that he found the situation "overwhelming" and shared it was "mind-blowing" how much stuff she had, and Michelle admitted the clutter had put a "strain" on their relationship. Much like Louise, Michelle's mum had an RAF past, and Michelle shared that she thought her obsession with cleaning was because she wasn't allowed to keep things as a child.
