Emergency services remain at the scene in Co Tipperary, Ireland, following the horrific single-vehicle collision, said to have killed “a number of young people”
Three teenage girls are among those dead in a crash on the way to an exam results party this evening.
The single-vehicle smash occurred near Clonmel, Co Tipperary in Ireland. Police have said in a statement that “initial indications are that there are a number of persons deceased”. Emergency services remain at the scene – which is along a rural road – tonight.
In a tragedy which mirrors a crash earlier this month in which pupils died on the way to their school prom in Ireland, it is thought the children travelling in Co Tipperary were on their way to a party to celebrate their exam results. The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, has also died, police confirmed.
A forensic examination will take place at the scene of the crash tomorrow, according to reports. The community is, though, heartbroken at the tragedy.
