Matchroom Boxing boxing confirmed the finding with a statement on social media.
It comes after it was also revealed that AJ’s original opponent Dillian Whyte also failed a drugs test and backed out of the fight.
In the statement, it is revealed that Helenius, 39, returned an “adverse analytical finding” during his test.
A statement said: “Today, the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (Vada) had informed Matchroom and the British Boxing Board of Control that Robert Helenius has returned an adverse analytical finding as part of a random anti-doping protocol.
