Manchester United astonishingly found themselves 2-0 down to Nottingham Forest after just four minutes on Saturday, prompting Gary Lineker to troll Erik ten Hag’s side
Gary Lineker wasted no time to ridicule Manchester United after they humiliating went 2-0 at home to Nottingham Forest inside four minutes – but was left red-faced after they secured a comeback win.
Old Trafford was left stunned on Saturday afternoon following goals from Forest duo Taiwo Awoniyi and Willy Boly before some fans had even taken their seats. Lineker immediately took to social media to join in the pile-on, saying: “Manchester United seem to have resolved their problems,” alongside a concerned-looking emoji.
United, who produced a stunning comeback to secure a 3-2 win, have already had their fair share of problems this season which the ex-England striker referenced in a post which quickly garnered more than 1,000 likes. Erik ten Hag’s side began the campaign with an unconvincing 1-0 victory over Wolves before slumping to a limp 2-0 loss away to Tottenham last Saturday.
Things only got worse for the Red Devils in the second minute of their game against Forest, as visiting striker Awoniyi was gifted a goal to make it 1-0. United lost the ball at their own corner and comedically failed to prevent Forest’s talisman from breaking away, as Awoniyi coolly slotted past Andre Onana after running more than half the length of the pitch.
