This Morning star feels ‘selfish’ for becoming a mum again at 50 in heartbreaking confession

ITV star Emma Kenny, who is already mum to two grown up sons, welcomed daughter Etta-Blue last month, and shared her sadness at having years of her child’s life ‘stolen’ after suffering from infertility

This Morning star Emma Kenny has admitted she felt a “great deal of selfishness” becoming a mum again at the age of 50.

The ITV star is already mum to sons Tyde, 20, and Evan, 18, with husband Pete Skywalker, and welcomed her gorgeous baby daughter, Etta-Blue, last month after 10 years of struggling with infertility. Emma decided to keep her pregnancy a secret, and shared the exciting news of her third baby’s arrival in a sweet post on Instagram, as she detailed the heartbreaking miscarriages she suffered while trying to have her longed-for daughter.

Emma sadly admitted she felt selfish during her “miracle” pregnancy, and said she has had “years stolen” from the time she can spend with her daughter due to years of infertility struggles. “I felt a great deal of selfishness all the way up until giving birth,” she confessed. “There are moments when I think, ‘I wish I could have another 20 years with Etta’. I’ll have conversations with Etta about it as she gets older.”

The TV star told OK! she was trying not to “beat myself up about it”, and after going through the loss of her best friend, who died at the age of 43, she insisted that “you don’t always get the time that’s promised to you.” Emma was “lapping up every second” of her newborn daughter, and opened up on the excruciating battle she faced trying to fall pregnant with her third child, after a decade of heartbreak.
