Trader Joe’s issues FIVE recalls in a month amid fears of bugs, metal and rocks in food

The latest warning has been issued over black bean tamales possibly containing undeclared milk – while other Trader Joe’s food products could contain rocks or even insects

Trader Joe’s has issued a fifth product recall in a month amid fears of bugs, metal and rocks in the grocery giant’s products.

The latest warning has been issued over tamales possibly containing undeclared milk, namely Texas Tamale Company Gourmet Black Bean Tamales. Affected products are coded with a number 717725000580) with a lot code of 7023 and are sold only in Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oaklahom, Tennessee, and Texas stores.

In a statement on its website, Trader Joes said: “No illnesses have been reported to date, and all potentially affected product has been removed from sale. If you purchased Texas Tamale Company Gourmet Black Bean Tamales, please do not eat them. We urge you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.”
