Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani was claimed to have beaten Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the race to buy Manchester United, but the Glazers have put a spanner in the works of his takeover
Is it finally the end of Manchester United’s takeover saga?
Wednesday saw the sensational claim that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani had indeed WON the race to buy the club, beating British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe thanks to a £6billion bid after their nine-month battle. The Qatari banker was reported to be planning his next moves but it appears that things aren’t so sewn up.
Elsewhere, the fallout from Mason Greenwood’s exit continues, with the club facing heavy criticism for their handling of the affair after announcing that he’d be leaving Old Trafford. As Greenwood searches for a new club, United manager Erik ten Hag continues to pursue transfer targets such as Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat and Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch, but time is running out for the Red Devils, who’ve also just lost Mason Mount to a serious injury which is set to impact their transfer plans.
Stay tuned for the latest updates from Old Trafford throughout Thursday..
