PGA Tour pro calls on grudge match with LIV Golf rivals amid Ryder Cup “politics”

With LIV Golf and the PGA Tour set to work alongside each other under the ‘NewCo’ brand, one player has called on stars from both sides to take each other on on the golf course

Golf star James Hahn has called on players from the PGA Tour and LIV Golf to take each other on in a grudge match, naming the proposed idea the ‘PIF Cup’.

After a year-long saga, the PGA Tour and LIV appeared to have settled their differences. This came after the Tour reached a shock agreement with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF), the Middle Eastern funder of the LIV Golf setup.

With the framework agreement still in the early stages of negotiations, the debate surrounding the Tour and LIV has been reignited in recent weeks in regard to the upcoming Ryder Cup.

The debate is centred around LIV players earning a spot on either the European or American team, with rebel players such as Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau relying on a captain’s pick to earn a place in Rome. In a bid to settle the debate as to which circuit bodes the stronger playing membership, Hahn has come up with a novel idea.
