Courteney Cox reveals shocking real-life trait she shares with Friends character Monica

Courteney Cox played cleaning-obsessed Monica Geller-Bing in the iconic sitcom, and surprised fans with a hilarious revelation on social media

Courteney Cox has shared a real-life secret trait she has in common with her Friends character Monica Geller-Bing.

The 59-year-old actress, who played the cleaning-obsessed character in the long-running hit sitcom from 1995 to 2004, took to social media to share a hilarious video with her 12.9 million followers over the weekend. In the clip, Courteney told her fans she was showing them round her gorgeous Malibu home, and was being filmed by her friend Max. “I just redid my dining room, let me show you,” she began.

However, the cameraman was distracted by an open door, and asked: “Oh wait, what’s in here?” as he slid the door across to reveal a messy spare room with piled up boxes, duvets and upturned furniture, including an unused treadmill and stools. “Oh my God, nothing!” Courteney exclaimed, as she dashed over the door and tried to close it. “Nothing! Please Max, stop it. It’s not funny, please,” she jokingly begged.

“Is that your junk closet?” Max asked. “Seriously, stop filming!” Courtney shouted as she grabbed the camera. “Erase the footage now, okay?” Her fans were delighted with the video, which partially recreated an iconic scene from the eighth season of Friends. In the episode, obsessive compulsive Monica, who has a place for everything, is rumbled by husband Chandler when he discovers a mystery closet in their New York apartment.
