According to The Telegraph , Dutch football chiefs have privately said that Wiegman would make a list of candidates for the job. Wiegman guided England to the final of this summer's Women's World Cup, the Lionesses best-ever performance at the tournament. Despite losing to Spain on Sunday, the England boss has been hailed for her achievements since taking over the side. After replacing Phil Neville in 2021, she won a maiden Euros last summer before this year's run to the World Cup final. Her tenure with the Lionesses has not gone unnoticed and she could now be in line to become the next manager of the Dutch men's national team. The report adds that she had been certain to be on a shortlist of candidates, but that her candidacy is now even stronger after reaching a fourth straight major international final. However, she is said to have told the FA before the loss to Spain that she has "no plans to leave" her current role. Wiegman remains under contract until after the Euros in 2025 and has even been tipped to succeed Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate.
