Cheshire Police confirmed her death was not believed to be suspicious (Image: Lorraine Oates) The mother of a “beautiful” woman who died after saying she was going to a friend’s house has paid tribute to her daughter. Lauren Carmichael, 22, disappeared from her home at 6.50pm on Friday, August 4, having told her mother Lorraine Oates that she was going to a friend’s house. But Lauren tragically never arrived and was found near Stockham Lane, Runcorn, at around 8.45pm on Saturday, August 5. Cheshire Police have since confirmed that her death is not being treated as suspicious, reports Liverpool Echo. Her mother Lorraine said: “My beautiful, brave, intelligent baby girl Lauren left this world on Friday, August 4. My heart is broken, the light has left my life. I gave birth to her and love her with every single fibre of my body. “My girl gave me life, she gave me a reason to be, a reason to want the best for us. She awoke a part of me that I never knew existed or ever thought could be. She was my saviour, my beginning. My girl never failed to make me laugh, her humour was just wasted, she should have been on stage, at times she did not even know how funny she was. “That’s the thing you see, she never knew, how beautiful, how intelligent, how worthy of everything she was. I wish she saw what I could see. She is my best friend, we did everything together. “Too delicate for this world. My girl is with her grandad now, in another, better, brighter, calmer world, with colours you couldn’t imagine and surrounded by love and beauty. May my baby rest in peace now.” Lauren had recently graduated from York St John University and was in the process of applying for her master’s degree. She was reported missing by her mum three hours after leaving her Runcorn home after she failed to arrive at her friend’s house. She said: “I had never not had a response from her; my baby always responded and told me where she was going. On the evening of August 5, not long after I had returned from searching for her again, police arrived and delivered news of my baby being found, shattering my world in a split second.” She added: “My daughter was a warm, bright light of joy and the most incredible sense of humour, quick witted, passionate and super intelligent. She had recently graduated from York St John University and was in the process of applying for her master’s degree. Her dissertation was published, so clever, so very clever and so very beautiful inside and out.” The Samaritans can be reached round the clock, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
