As one of only four women to be given a whole-life sentence, Lucy Letby starts her incarceration in a maximum security prison that is home to some of the country’s deadliest criminals.
The sentence, in response to such heinous crimes, will be unremittingly bleak for the nurse, and the justice system will deploy huge resources to imprison her.
Experts said that given many of the inmates are unable to see their own children, Letby’s crimes will strike a particularly upsetting chord and make her a target.
