Ian Poulter reacts to competing against teenage son Luke in debut pro event

Ian Poulter finished second in the Asian Tour’s International Series stop at Close House on SUnday, but the week was made extra special after competing alongside son Luke

Ian Poulter has expressed his pride at teenage son Luke after the father and son duo competed against each other at the International Series England event at Close House.

Poulter now plays his golf on the LIV Golf circuit, having joined the breakaway circuit last summer. Last week though he turned his attentions to the Asian Tour’s stop in Newcastle, as he was one of 23 LIV players teeing it up at Close House.

One man who was also in the International Series field, was Poulter’s 19-year-old son Luke, who was competing in his first ever professional golf event.

Luke is currently part of the golf programme at the Florida State University, and has just completed his first year in the Sunshine State.
