Lucy Letby will be on 24-hour suicide watch as she faces life in prison for baby murders

A prison official says baby killer Lucy Letby, 33, faces 24-hour surveillance in prison to prevent her taking her own life and it would be “very embarrassing” if she dies before “justice gets done”

Baby murderer Lucy Letby may face 24-hour surveillance in jail to stop her from killing herself, a prison official says.

The killer nurse is expected to be on constant suicide watch as she faces the rest of her life behind bars after being found guilty on Friday of the murders of seven babies and the attempted murders of six more

Letby, 33, previously said she considered taking her own life after being blamed for babies’ deaths at a neonatal unit in Chester.

Ian Carson of the Prison Officers Association told the Mirror: “It wouldn’t surprise me if she’s under constant watch with eyes on her 24/7.
